Welcome to the Evanston Township High School's Women in Science Technology Engineering and Mathematics Club!
This club works to inspire girls and women to become more involved in science. We hope to join in the fight to promote awareness of gender inequality in STEM. Currently, women make up less than a third of physical sciences, only 13% of engineers, and even less for computer science. Let's change those numbers!
Are you interested in getting service hours to be a tutor for another girl in WiSTEM?

The Youth Technology Corps at Evanston Township High School is looking for more girls to join!! Check it out!!!
Hi, WiSTEM ladies!
Next week is WiSTEM Week, a week in which we have planned the following exciting events revolving around girls in STEM: Monday, December 7: STEM Sisters Lunch Invite a girlfriend to eat lunch with you on Monday in S214. Pizza will be provided! This is a casual opportunity to hang with a friend, listen to music, eat pizza, and talk about STEM :) Tuesday, December 8: Presentation by Dr. Paola Sapienza On Tuesday, come to S214 to hear a presentation by Dr. Paola Sapienza about her research on women in STEM from a global perspective. Her work relates the gender gap in STEM to the amount of gender inequality within countries around the world. Thursday, December 10: Presentation by Paige & Paxton On Thursday, the mother-daughter trio who started the STEM brand Paige & Paxton will be here to discuss Paige & Paxton and their experiences as women in STEM. We will be in S214 for this event. Check out their website here. Friday, December 11: Student Panel On Friday, we will have a panel (in A241) of female students to talk about their own experiences studying STEM. The audience will be composed of teachers here at ETHS, because the goal of the panel is to provide insight on how to make the STEM classroom environment more welcoming to girls. Anyone can be on the panel! If you're interested, please send us a quick email letting us know. We need approximately five junior or senior girls per lunch period. This is a great opportunity to let your voice be heard! Note: All events are during 4th, 5th, and 6th periods. If you can come to any of these events, we'd love to see you there! WiSTEM Executive Board Panel Members: We will have prep sessions on Wednesday and Thursday mornings during AM support. Please plan to attend at least one of these sessions to get an idea for what questions may be asked at the panel Thank you to all the girls who attended the field trip today to the women's leadership panel at Northwestern University! It was very interesting to see what factors contribute the lack of female leaders in this country. We look forward to being able to take club members to more panels such as these in the future!
Hello Girls! If you're interested in going on a field trip THIS Friday to experience a panel of women leaders in STEM, fill out and turn in the form attached before Thursday, (not the date it says on the form) to E328.
